Private Biblical homeschooling produces some of the best adjusted people that emerge from school. So what does a private Biblical homeschool upbringing look like? What is the final product produced by homeschooling? Is it really what we want for our children and if so, what does it take to get there?
In this presentation, we will take a walk into the life of a homeschool family as seen through the eyes of one of its daughers. Felicia Alvarez, a native of Southern California, was not exposed to the pressures associated with public school. Rather, she was encouraged to pursue her God given abilities even when it meant going against the grain. She will join us to talk about her journey, covering such topics as:
- Socialization. Felicia will discuss how she was discipled for Christ and why it produced a woman who is sociable, witty, and fun to be around.
- Peer Pressure. What is the hidden danger of peer pressure for kids? How does homeschooling avoid it and where is it still a danger for homeschoolers?
- Preparation for life. Ultimately, the purpose of the home is to produce a Godly seed and to prepare children for meaningful service in life. What did it mean for Felicia to be a Godly seed and provide meaningful service in her life? How can you apply it in your homeschool?
- Memories. How can you give your children great memories as you pour into them while they're growing up?
